Blogging according to Year 7

Students teach students how to blog

Students teach students how to blog

Year 7 students at Hawkesdale P12 College travelled by bus to Portland North Primary School, to teach “one on one” the students of grades 5 and 6 how to set up and maintain an effective blog. Before, this peer to peer mentoring activity, the year 7 group decided what they wanted the grades 5/6 to know. Here is their presentation, without any help from their ICT teacher. An amazing outcome and it shows that cybersafety and digital literacy/citizenship rules need to be built into our curriculum from a young age.

Thanks for the day guys. All of the class have blogs up and running. We couldn’t have done it so quickly without you.
